In her first major public address since the Democratic Party’s loss in the November election, former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has launched a scathing critique of former President Donald Trump, accusing him of pushing a divisive and self-centered vision for America.

You’re Running Narrow, Self-Serving Vision Of America, Spreading Fear – Kamala Harris Slams President Trump, Harris declared during her fiery speech delivered Wednesday at an event in San Francisco hosted by Emerge, a political organization that empowers Democratic women to run for public office.

Harris described Trump’s leadership as one rooted in fear, loyalty tests, and the abandonment of democratic values. “What we are, in fact, witnessing is a high-velocity event,” she said, “where a vessel is being used for the swift implementation of an agenda that has been decades in the making—an agenda to slash public education, shrink government, privatise essential services, and grant tax breaks to the wealthiest.”

She further accused Trump of punishing truth-tellers and promoting division, stating, “They punish truth-tellers, favour loyalists, cash in on their power, and leave everyone else to fend for themselves.”

Highlighting the former president’s reliance on fear as a political tool, Harris said, “They are counting on fear to be contagious. But what they don’t realise is that courage is also contagious.”

Despite the political setbacks, Harris pointed to a growing wave of grassroots resistance across the country, asserting that many Americans are standing up against what she termed “unchecked power.”

Her remarks arrive at a time when Trump’s political comeback is stirring intense national debate, with ongoing controversies surrounding his previous administration’s policies—including trade tariffs, immigration enforcement, and governance style.
