The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has confirmed the arrest of two young men accused of burgling five shops in the Idiroko area of the state and carting away clothing items including boxers, singlets, and shirts.

The suspects, identified as Daniel Enitan (24) and Adetona Sodeeq (23), were caught in the early hours of May 7, 2025, during a routine patrol by officers around the Aferiku community in Idiroko.

This development was revealed in a press statement signed by the Commander of So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of the Public Relations Officer, Moruf Yusuf, and made available to DAILY POST on Saturday.

According to the statement, the patrol team became suspicious after observing unusual movements in the area at about 2 a.m.. The suspects, who were carrying large school bags, attempted to escape upon seeing the officers but were swiftly apprehended.

“Their suspicious behavior and the bags they were carrying prompted the officers to stop them for questioning. After a brief chase and interrogation, both suspects confessed to breaking into five shops, including one located beside Ikolaje Primary School on Border Road, Idiroko,” the statement read.

A search conducted at the scene and on the suspects led to the recovery of several stolen items including:

  • One power bank
  • One hammer (believed to be used for forced entry)
  • One singlet
  • Two large school bags
  • Two crossbody bags
  • One “3-in-1” boxer pack
  • Six pairs of boxers
  • Six polo shirts
  • Four pairs of jeans trousers
  • Three pairs of Crocs footwear
  • Eight pairs of palm sandals

Commander Ganzallo stated that the stolen goods and suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Idiroko Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.

The So-Safe Corps reiterated its commitment to ensuring safety and security in all communities under its watch and urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
