
Tragedy struck the Festac Town community in Lagos State as Inspector Bishop Clement, a police officer who was declared missing last week, has been found dead, bringing a grim end to days of uncertainty and concern.
His lifeless body was discovered at Second Rainbow in Festac Town, days after a Police Wireless Message had circulated across various police divisions and formations in Lagos, detailing his mysterious disappearance.
The deceased officer, Inspector Clement, reportedly left for work on April 23, 2025, but never returned home. His disappearance was officially reported by his wife after repeated attempts to contact him via phone failed.
According to a police signal obtained by SaharaReporters and signed by both the Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration (COMPOL DFA), Ikeja, and the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Area ‘B’, Apapa, the distress report prompted an internal alert across the command.
The wireless message, referenced AB: 2680/LS/AP/VOL.1/146, noted that Inspector Clement, bearing Force Number AP/No. 352498, had gone missing under unusual circumstances. The message read:
“Be informed that on 23/04/2025 at about 1500HRS, information was received from the wife of AP/NO. 352498, Inspr. Bishop Clement ‘M’ attached mine, that her husband… has not yet returned home since he left to work, and his mobile phone numbers 08062389359 and 08058981999 have not been reachable. Kindly assist in circulating the information to other divisions/formations for a possible trace of his whereabouts.”
The grim discovery has sparked sorrow within the ranks of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as among residents of Festac Town who had hoped for a different outcome.
Authorities have yet to release further details surrounding the cause of death, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances that led to his tragic demise.
